National Flood Mitigation Masterplan Receives RM 3.5 Billion Allocation for High-Risk River Basins

A newly approved RM 3.5 billion capital expenditure program will accelerate vital flood mitigation works across 14 vulnerable river basins throughout Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.

The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) confirmed that over 60 high-capacity retention ponds, automated tidal sluice gates, and upgraded river embankments are nearing completion under the National Climate Adaptation Framework.
